概要
Avalanche
Yesterday (24th), a point occurrence avalanche of wet snow due to ski cuts has been reported on a steep slope facing south of the forest belt.
Snowpack
In the Alpine area, the most recent snowfall rests on the thawing frozen crust. Limited observations, but no clear instability has been reported, but strong northwest winds continued to blow yesterday, so be aware of time-lapsed wind slabs forming locally in the terrain. Also, in places where elevations are lower than the forest limit, warm southerly winds will enter today, and a significant temperature rise is forecast. During the day, attention should be paid to changes in which snow on the surface layer gets wet and loses strength.
Weather
The Japan Meteorological Agency predicts southerly winds, sunny weather, and a high of 17 degrees Celsius (elevation 418 m) for the northern part of Nagano prefecture. At the foot of Mt. Hakuba (elevation 703m), the temperature is -3.0 degrees Celsius (as of 5:00).
