Travel and Terrain Advice

At lower elevations, be aware of the effects of daytime warming and solar radiation, as well as the onset of rainfall. Near the forest limit, you can enjoy comfortable rough snow gliding during the day when the snow surface loosens. It is a safe avalanche condition, but please continue to take safety actions based on terrain awareness, such as whether there are slopes above and below you with glide cracks, and whether the place to stop is a safe place. Today, we will finish the avalanche information in the Myoko Mountains this season. Thank you very much for using it.

概要

Avalanche

No new avalanches were reported yesterday (2nd).

Snowpack

In the Alpine, snowfall until the morning of the 1st remains, but the snow surface at an altitude lower than the forest limit has become rough snow with repeated thawing and freezing. At high altitudes, weak southwesterly winds are coming in, and the cold is weak. At low elevations, watch out for glide cracks and falling remaining snow blocks in extreme terrain.

Weather

The Japan Meteorological Agency predicts southern wind, daytime, north wind, sunny, later, cloudy, night, rain, and a high temperature of 14 degrees Celsius (elevation 13 m) for the Joetsu region of Niigata prefecture. The temperature is -5℃ (as of 5:00) at Myoko Sasagamine (elevation 1,310m).
