Travel and Terrain Advice

Generally safe avalanche conditions, but watch out for wind slabs on isolated terrain features. Temperatures are expected to be warmer today than yesterday. For those who will be working in the lower elevation zones, please consider moving up your scheduled time of passage through the hazardous areas. If you plan to wade in the evening, please keep in mind the possibility of rising water due to melting snow. Have a good day.

概要

Avalanche

Yesterday, a number of wet loose snow avalanches were observed at lower elevations due to elevated temperatures and solar radiation in the afternoon.

Snowpack

The snowpack from previous snowfall has settled. The snow surface on the sunny slope formed a thawing and frozen layer due to the influence of solar radiation.

Weather

The Japan Meteorological Agency expects that high pressure will prevail, but that it will be affected by a pressure trough. Therefore, it is forecasted to be sunny. The maximum daytime temperature is 8°C (418 m elevation). At Amedas Hakuba (elevation 703 m), the temperature is -4.5°C (as of 5:00). Snowfall since last night is 0 cm.
