Travel and Terrain Advice
Continued vigilance is required as we remain with early season conditions across the region. Low snow totals below treeline promote the possibility of injury from near surface obstructions. Take the time to test any snow bridges across rivers and try to avoid as much as possible.
Avalanche Problem

New cornice formation has been observed on easterly aspects promoting the possibility of wind slab development in isolated terrain at higher elevations.
点発生乾雪雪崩 Dry Loose snow
Sluffing has been observed moving slowly in steep terrain on northerly aspects. Be mindful on what is below you when traversing steep terrain above rivers and gullies.

Avalanche
Sluffing was noted in steep, unsupported northerly aspects at mid and high elevations.
Snowpack
The latest new snow aprears to have settled well to the previous snow surface hand testing on the 23rd at Rusutsu resulted in broken results on the new and old snow interface. Below this the pack appears settled and supportive and is bonding well.
Weather
Continued snow flurries throughout the day with periods of broken sunshine. We can expect light to moderate north westerly winds.
