Travel and Terrain Advice

Be alert for wind slabs that exist in certain terrain. Hard snow surfaces do not mean safety, and attempting to ski cut into hard wind slabs is a high-risk activity. Avoiding terrain with easily triggered terrain features is the best choice. Choose simple terrain that is not affected by wind and you will enjoy great powder snow. Glide cracks are hidden by this new snow. Use extreme caution where the slopes change. The mountain will be crowded today. Please keep an eye on what other groups are doing and use the safe zones well. Have a great weekend.

Snowpack

The snow cover for this storm event was 70-100 cm below treeline. Despite limited observations, there are no noticeably weak areas within the new snow and it is settling well. Due to the continued stormy weather, there is a lack of information at higher elevations.
