Alpine Low Although information is scarce, continue to watch out for wind slabs that remain locally just below the branch ridge.

Continue to be aware of the presence of localized remaining wind slabs on steep downwind slopes at higher elevations. Be aware of glide avalanches from open glide cracks and block collapses from cliff-like areas, and avoid entering or quickly passing under such areas. Be aware of the presence of "terrain traps" such as deep gullies, cliffs, rocks, and standing timber that can increase damage even if the size of the avalanche that occurs is small. Avalanche danger varies with the effects of daytime solar radiation and rising temperatures. Pay particular attention to glide movements in low elevation zones.
Local steep slopes
Yesterday (August 8), a storm slab size 2 and a point snow dry snow size 1.5 were reported on the southerly slope at an elevation of 1600 to 1800 meters, respectively, which are thought to have occurred within the past 48 hours. In addition, debris from a glide avalanche and a glide avalanche size 2.5 was observed in Yuzawa around midday yesterday at an elevation of 900m on the southern slope.
No overnight snowfall has been observed, and the recent snowfall of 30-40 cm on top of the crusts from the rainfall of the 5th is well bonded at its boundary. Crusts may have formed in the morning at lower elevations and on sunny slopes where the snow surface has melted due to yesterday's temperature increase and solar radiation.
As of 5:00, precipitation over the past 24 hours at AMeDAS Fujiwara was 0.5 mm. The temperature is -2℃. The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting clear skies and occasionally cloudy skies due to the influence of cold and moist air, although high pressure will gradually build.
