Travel and Terrain Advice
Shifting winds will create complex loading patterns while continued snowfall through the day may hide windslab built overnight by the Easterly winds. Look for cross loaded slopes and investigate for windslab formation on aspects that were lee to the overnight winds as well as today`s NE and North winds. At lower elevations, day time warming may cause the storm snow to form into a storm slab. Use extra caution on aspects where the storm snow overlies hard surfaces or crusts.

概要
Avalanche
A size 2 glide avalanche occurred in Haru no Taki (adjacent to Hirafu resort) some time in the past 48 hours. No other new avalanches have been reported.
Snowpack
10-20cms of overnight snow brings the settled storm total to ~30cms on sheltered polar aspects in the alpine and treeline zones. On exposed North and West aspects, the new snow overlies wind scoured surfaces and a melt freeze crust up to 1000m on solars. There is also a rain / temperature crust on all aspects up to ~800m. The mid and lower snow pack are well consolidated.
Weather
A deep low moving to the E of Hokkaido pushes a North Easterly flow across the region. The system has brought 20cms of new snow to the East of the region and ~10cms to the rest of the forecast area. Snow is expected to continue this morning with an additional 5 to 10cms expected through the day. Temps will remain cool with a high of 1C expected in the valley today. Winds will be moderate from the NE occasionally gusting to strong and skies will be overcast all day.
