Warm temperatures overnight and light rainfall in the morning will result in heavy conditions in the backcountry today. Twisting falls will be a concern as little in the way of a surface re freeze will have occurred. All regular spring hazards should be considered from wet loose activity in steep terrain and open glide cracks alongside a thinning snowpack with natural hazards such as rocks once again coming close to the surface.
Warm overnight temperatures will continue to promote glide crack growth with failures possible today.
Surface conditions will be moist and heavy on all aspects below 1000 meters early in the day with little in the way of overnight freeze occurring. Expect wet loos activity in steep terrain.
No new observations have been reported recently.
The freezing level remained above 1000 meters overnight creating moist and heavy surface conditions on all aspects. The upper snow pack contains multiple crusts punctuated by wet grains at present. On upper elevations previous slabs are expected to have settled with exposed windward aspects stripped and firm.
An overcast start to the day with the possibility of a light rain shower will make way for broken sunshine by lunchtime. The current light to moderate north westerly flow will shift in the PM to the south with further rainfall forecast overnight.
