Alpine Fair Uncertainty regarding amount of overnight precipitation in the alpine elevation band
Treeline Fair Limited observations

Warm temperatures and rain at most elevations has made the snow surface moist and challenging skiing conditions can be expected in most parts of the region today. Avoid travelling below slopes with glide cracks as there is an increased risk that these cracks will expand and potentially release as full depth glide avalanches today. Also use caution on open slopes with convexities where new cracks or glide avalanches are possible.
Warm temperatures and high freezing levels continue to weaken the snowpack and increase the likelihood of glide slab avalanches
The rapid rise in temperature combined with rain will increase the likelihood of wet loose avalanches on steep slopes particularly on slopes that have not already experienced a wet loose cycle.
No new avalanches have been reported in the past 24 hours
Warm temperatures and high freezing levels prevented an overnight freeze at most elevations. Light precipation which has fallen as rain or sleet will continue to weaken the upper snowpack as will the continued rise in temperatures today. The lower and mid pack are well consolidated.
A low pressure system moved into the region from the SW causing freezing levels to rise to ~1000m overnight accompanied by light precipitation. As the system moves away, winds will decrease in intensity and shift to the North then to the West. Light winds are expected for most of the day but the freezing level will continue rising as high as 1800m in the afternoon. Light rain is expected at most elevations in the morning before tapering off around mid-day. Skies will be overcast all day with a high of 8C forecasted in the valley.
