Avalanche
Yesterday (March 27), a large number of wet snow point avalanches occurred on the steep slope to the south, which is heavily exposed to solar radiation, regardless of the altitude zone.
Snowpack
Yesterday, due to significant temperature rise and strong solar radiation, the snow surface layer was sufficiently wet, mainly on the south face, and a large number of avalanches were generated by losing its strength. On the north side of a very high altitude place, there were some remnants of fresh snow that had fallen, but it also contained moisture due to the high temperature that was positive even at an altitude of 2500m. The high temperatures have continued since yesterday, and snow melting is progressing rapidly at low altitudes, and the snow cover has become wet enough.
Weather
The Japan Meteorological Agency forecasts southern winds, slightly strong, clouding, rain from the afternoon, and a maximum temperature of 18°C (altitude 418m) for northern Nagano Prefecture. At AMeDAS Hakuba (altitude 703 m), the temperature 4.9 ℃ (as of 5 o'clock), yesterday's high temperature 15.7 ℃ (15 o'clock), the plus temperature continues until this morning.
