Travel and Terrain Advice

Note the triggering of storm slabs on steep slopes with few anchors supporting snow cover such as rocks. It is a situation where visibility is poor and it is difficult to recognize the surroundings. Pay attention to the possibility of avalanches from steep slopes overhead, even if you yourself are in a loose slope. Terrain traps such as rocks, deep ravines, and cliffs that increase damage when an avalanche occurs are exposed. The risk of avalanches increases due to weather changes. Act with caution.

概要

Avalanche

No new avalanches reported yesterday (22nd)

Snowpack

The impact of yesterday's rainfall is at least 2500 meters above sea level. Around 2400m, a new snow cover is 50cm or more on top of the snow that was affected by yesterday's rainfall. The connection between the recrystallized old snow in the high elevation zone unaffected by rainfall and the new snowfall is unknown.

Weather

The current temperature at 5:40 in Murodo is -9.7 degrees Celsius. Visibility is poor and snowfall continues. The Japan Meteorological Agency has predicted that there will be rain at the foot of the mountain with occasional rain and lightning, and snowing at night in high mountain areas due to the potential to be affected by cold and humid air.
