The forest belt is still bush and avalanche topography is difficult to understand, but at higher elevations, the terrain is beginning to be filled with more snow. Let's not be confused by the atmosphere of the place where we are, and act by checking the topographic map to see if there is a large occurrence area at the top of us. Also, be sure to avoid “terrain traps,” which can easily lead to deep burial even with small avalanches.

Yesterday due to stormy weather, there were almost no visitors, so there was no avalanche information.
Yesterday (December 27), it was reported that snowfall continued even though it weakened, and a series of snowfall has reached 50-100 cm in the upper part of the forest belt. This snow cover is deposited under the influence of strong northwesterly to westerly winds. If you look at the whole area, the more you go to the north, the higher the elevation, the more new snow cover tends to be. It had been settling steadily below the forest zone. On top of that, there was a new strong snowfall since last evening, and there was 25 cm of snowfall at 750m in Hakuba village for 12 hours.
The Japan Meteorological Agency predicts the northern part of Nagano prefecture that it will be cloudy with occasional sunny weather, snow in a wide range until dawn, and snow will continue along the mountains. At AMeDAS Hakuba (elevation 703m), the temperature is -4.8℃ (as of 5:00).
