Avalanche
It has been confirmed that multiple surface generated avalanches occur spontaneously on south-to-eastward slopes in the Alpine area. We have also received reports that surface avalanches were handled in the management work of the ski resort.
Snowpack
The snow brought by stormy weather, which continued from the 25th, reached 100-120 cm in the forest belt in the northern part of the area. In areas of high elevation, they have an unstable structure, in which the slab rests on soft snow with a low density. Yesterday, there were multiple reports that the local slab responded. Sedimentation proceeds in proportion to the low elevation, but the speed is slower than on the northward slopes.
Weather
The Meteorological Agency predicts that the northern part of Nagano prefecture will be gently covered by high pressure, but it is expected to be affected by moist air in the afternoon, so it will be cloudy and sunny, and there will be snow and rain starting in the afternoon. At AMeDAS Hakuba (elevation 703m), the temperature is -13.0℃ (as of 5:00).
