Snowpack
The stormy weather that continued from the day before yesterday (30th) brought a lot of snowfall. Even in the forest zone, it has exceeded 100cm. Snow accumulation caused by heavy snowfall with strong winds exhibits an unstable structure, contains multiple vulnerable layers within the snow layer, and conditions that can cause large-scale avalanches.
Weather
The Meteorological Agency predicts that the winter-type atmospheric pressure arrangement will gradually loosen for the northern part of Nagano prefecture, so it will snow widely in the north until the morning and gradually clear up in the afternoon. At AMeDAS Hakuba (elevation 703m), the temperature is -5.7℃ (as of 5:00).
