This is a condition where unstable snow remains only in certain terrain areas. At the moment there is no significant change from the situation of the previous day, but today the temperature rise is forecast. Even if there is no direct solar radiation, on a day when the sun is partly cloudy and the sun can be seen through, the effect has a significant effect on the snow cover. It often happens that both solid slabs in the morning, and in the afternoon they lose strength and become unstable, so be aware of the changes. Also, at low elevations, do not approach slopes with glide cracks that are already open. Have a nice weekend
地形局所に形成
Yesterday (8th), full-layer avalanches of size 1.5 have been observed on the northern slope and extreme terrain at an elevation of 1,000 m.
Consolidated snow from the beginning of the year to the 5th, and the snowfall on the 7th is proceeding with sintering. There are also places where the thaw frozen layer formed in late December is exposed in places that are hit strongly by the wind above the forest limit due to the influence of the northerly storms that were on the way. Wind wraps around the terrain and affects low elevations, forming wind slabs in local pockets of the terrain. This slab responds poorly to human stimuli, but careful attention is needed on unsupported terrain, such as extreme convexity and cliffs at the bottom.
The Japan Meteorological Agency forecasts northern Nagano prefecture with northern winds, cloudy occasional sunny weather, and a maximum temperature of 7℃ (elevation 418m). At the foot of Mt. Hakuba (elevation 703m), the temperature is -4.0℃ (as of 5:00). There is weak snowfall from the early dawn on the north side of Hakuba Valley, and the amount of snowfall is about 5 cm at an altitude of 1,000 m.
