On the forest limits and in its upper part, pay attention to the windslabs formed by yesterday's westerly winds. It is necessary to think that the topography still exists in an unstable state. Avoid terrain that does not support extreme geometries or snow cover. The temperature has been rising from yesterday to this morning. Crusts that are not slippery are formed on the lower elevation south surface, so control the speed so that there are no collisions with trees. There is good dry snow on the north side. Good group management is important while being careful about traps in the terrain. Have a nice weekend
Yesterday (9th), multiple size 1 point avalanches were confirmed on the steep slopes of the forest zone. This is due to snowfall from the wee hours.
Yesterday, snow with weak coupling force from the early dawn caused point generation avalanches, and at places higher than the upper part of the below treeline, the snow moved by strong westerly winds, forming slabs. The snow before that has settling and has stabilized, but some of the snow in the previous stormy weather is not completely stable, and it is responding to tests, etc. However, an extremely large stimulus is required for avalanches to occur due to this vulnerability.
The Japan Meteorological Agency predicts northern Nagano prefecture's northern wind, cloudy weather, sunny morning to evening, and a maximum temperature of 6℃ (elevation 418m). At the foot of Mt. Hakuba (elevation 703m), the temperature is -0.5℃ (as of 5:00). There is no snowfall since last night at the foot of the mountain.
