Yesterday (23rd), multiple naturally occurring full-layer avalanches of size 1-2 were observed and reported at low elevations in the forest zone. Also, point occurrence avalanches due to snowballs and wet snow, size 1 have been observed on steep slopes that are heavily exposed to solar radiation.
Snowpack
Snow in stormy weather is settling, and instability has been resolved. Continuous attention should be paid to the danger of wind slabs remaining in the terrain at high elevations. Yesterday, the temperature was slightly positive at the foot of the mountain, but since the temperature rose extremely large compared to the previous cold, the sudden deformation of the snow cover proceeded, and it appeared as glide cracks and all-layer avalanches. I did it. Strong or abrupt weather changes can destabilize the snow cover.
Weather
The Japan Meteorological Agency predicts northern Nagano prefecture's northern wind, cloudy, occasional sunny weather, and a maximum temperature of 3℃ (elevation 418m). At the foot of Mt. Hakuba (elevation 703m), the temperature is -1.3℃ (as of 5:00), and there is no new snowfall in the past 48 hours.
