Avalanche


Yesterday (24th), an avalanche that seems to be caused by snow canal collapse has been observed on the main ridge line of Alpine. Winds exceeding 10 m/s were blowing from beginning to end near the main ridge.

Snowpack


Snow in stormy weather is in the direction of stabilization in the below treeline, no pronounced vulnerability is observed. From the forest limits to the Alpine, it has been observed that there are places where surface frosts are hidden under the windslabs. Be wary of the combination of shaded slopes on the north side, where radiation is outstanding even in favorable weather, and places where wind slabs are formed by westerly winds.

Weather


The Japan Meteorological Agency predicts northern Nagano prefecture's northern wind, cloudy weather, sunny morning to early morning, and a maximum temperature of 3℃ (elevation 418m). At the foot of Mt. Hakuba (elevation 703m), the temperature is -9.1℃ (as of 5:00), and there is no new snowfall in the past 3 days.
