With regard to the area north of the valley of Hakuba, where there was a lot of snowfall until this morning, cautious action is needed. Even in the forest zone, reduce the slope and be wary of terrain areas such as convex where the terrain is difficult to support snow cover. Even small avalanches can be fatal if they are washed away in areas where there are trees in the outbreak zone or in the runway. The instability is near the surface layer of snow cover, so please check its condition using a safe, small terrain. The snow is in good condition with a sense of gliding. Have a safe day

Yesterday (29th), multiple surface generated avalanches of size 1-1.5 or point avalanches of size 1 have been observed at a low elevation from the forest limit. Both are caused by human inducement.
The vulnerability of the fresh snow that fell from the evening of the 26th to the 27th still remains, and it responds to human stimuli. Also, after that, there was some snowfall in a weak state of wind, which caused point avalanches on very steep slopes. In areas of forests where instability remains in fresh snow, surface avalanches occur, and their slabs are in a very soft state. No problem has been discovered in the middle of the snow cover or below.
The Meteorological Agency forecasts the northern part of Nagano prefecture with northern winds, morning and evening snow, and a maximum temperature of 2°C (elevation 418m). At the foot of Mt. Hakuba (elevation 703m), the temperature is -3.9℃ (as of 5:00), and there is no new snow accumulation in the past 12 hours. Snow clouds are hanging at the northern end of Hakuba Valley, and it is snowfall of 10-20 cm at an altitude of 1,000 m.
