It is a day when avalanche conditions are high in certain terrain. Please be wary of the instability within the past two days of fresh snow. Before entering a large slope, use a small, safe terrain and check its condition. Pay attention to areas within the terrain that are susceptible to trigger (for example, convexities, shapes where the terrain does not support snow, or where slabs are thin), or wind-affected slabs that form very steep terrain. The winter type continues, and snowfall forecasts are coming out for the weekend. An action plan that also takes that into account. Even if the slope is slightly reduced, it is a condition where you can enjoy fresh snow with a sense of skiing. Have a safe day
Yesterday (3rd), surface avalanches and shooting cracks of size 1-1.5 have been reported on the eastern slope of the forest belt due to human stimulation. Naturally occurring size 1 surface avalanches have also been observed on the eastern slope of the upper part of the below treeline.
It is necessary to pay attention to the instability of the slab formed by the snowfall of the past two days. The reported avalanches yesterday were affected by snow moved by strong southerly winds that blew in the morning. At the moment, the wind has subsided, but it is necessary to keep in mind if the instability remains. Vulnerabilities that are likely to be a problem below the forest limit and below the middle snowfall have not been reported so far.
The Meteorological Agency forecasts the northern part of Nagano prefecture with north wind, rear wind, south wind, cloudy, occasional sunny, late night, snow, and a maximum temperature of 3℃ (elevation 418m). At the foot of Mt. Hakuba (elevation 703m), the temperature is -3.8℃ (as of 4:00), and there is no new snowfall in the past 12 hours.
