Travel and Terrain Advice

This week, there have been multiple avalanches to watch out for, but at the same time, we also enjoyed great gliding across all elevation bands. Confirm the state of the boundary between fresh snow and old snow, raise confidence, and manage the risk of point occurrence avalanches by slipping off the fall line when skidding on steep slopes. Don't turn off the hazard detection switch until you return to the trailhead. This is a condition where avalanches can occur at low elevations. Great turns can be found at all elevations as it has continued to snow throughout the week Although we juggle multiple avalanche problems. Build confidence by testing the new and old snow interface and manage loose dry activity in steep terrain by skiing or riding slightly out of the fall line. Don't switch off as you make your way back to the trailhead as activity can occur at lower elevations also.

今週は100 cmを超える降雪があり、すべての標高帯で小さい負荷による点発生乾雪雪崩が起こりうる状況です。With over 100cm of new snow accumulated this week loose dry activity will be triggered by light loads at all elevations.

降雪の増加に伴うスラブの形成が、森林限界やアルパインでは起こりうる日です。明瞭に誘発しやすい場所に注意し、新雪と旧雪の結合の具合を確認してください。その境界面には大きなストレスが掛かっています。As the snow continues to fall we expect slabs to have formed and be reactive in the treeline and alpine. Be wary of obvious trigger points and test the bond between the new and old snow interface which is being stressed by further load throughout the week.

概要

Avalanche

No new avalanches have been observed reported. No new avalanche activity has been reported. You can contact the forecasting team with any observation at forecasters@nadare.jp

Snowpack

As snowfall continues, a concern is the state of the interface between fresh and old snow under heavy load. At higher elevations, soft slabs are formed, and they are more likely to be induced in places where loads are applied more, such as convex parts. Subsequent snowfall is prone to point-induced dry snow avalanches in all elevation bands. As it has been for multiple days, the new snow and old snow interface remains our concern After so much new load. At higher elevations, soft slabs will have formed and can be triggered in obvious stress points such as convex rolls. Loose-dry activity will occur at all elevations due to the weight of new snow.

Weather

Snowfall due to winds from the west to the northwest continues this weekend, and the wind is forecast to be light to moderate. We continue in a West to North West pattern over the weekend with continued snowfall. Winds will remain low to moderate.
