Travel and Terrain Advice

Note the wind slabs present in the high elevation zone. Beware of triggering on extreme steep slopes just below ridges and supporting ridges. Be careful of “terrain traps” such as cliffs and deep rivers, which increase damage even if the scale of avalanches that occur is small. It is a forecast to clear up. Also be aware of the possibility of wet and snow-point avalanches from large steep slopes to the south.

概要

Avalanche

Yesterday, there was a report that observed a surface avalanche size 2, which seems to have recently occurred on the southeastern slope near 1500m, but details are unknown.

Snowpack

The snow accumulation in the stormy weather of the other day is moved by the westerly wind, and wind slabs are formed directly under the ridge and the ridge, but the coupling is good. Bonding of the boundary surface of the southerly steep slope buried on the 11th is good, but there is an area where recrystallization has been observed, and attention should be paid to the decline of binding force in the future.

Weather

There is no data update at AMeDAS Fujiwara from 7:00 on the 11th. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency's announcement at 17:00 on the 12th, it will be covered by high pressure at first, but due to the effects of low pressure and chills advancing south of Japan, the northern part of Gunma prefecture will be mostly cloudy, and it will be snow and rain from the evening.
