Travel and Terrain Advice

Note the combination of the snowfall from last night with the old snow. It is necessary to pay attention to large steep slopes at high altitudes where the amount of snowfall increases. Be careful of “terrain traps” such as cliffs and deep rivers, which increase damage even if the scale of avalanches that occur is small. It is a forecast to clear up. Also be aware of the possibility of wet and snow-point avalanches from large steep slopes to the south.

概要

Avalanche

There are no reports of observing a new avalanche yesterday

Snowpack

Surface frost was observed on the northerly slope yesterday, and since it was buried due to snowfall from midnight, it is necessary to pay attention to coupling. There is a window slab locally just below the ridge and the ridge, but coupling is good. Bonding of the boundary surface of the southerly steep slope buried on the 10th is good, but there is an area where recrystallization is observed, and attention should be paid to the decline of binding force in the future.

Weather

AMeDAS Fujiwara has been suspended from 7:00 on the 11th. There is a new snowfall of about 2 cm with a temperature of -1.5 degrees Celsius around 4 o'clock. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency's announcement at 17:00 on the 13th, it is expected that the low pressure will pass near the Izu Islands and then be covered by a high pressure, so it is forecast that it will be sunny and snow or rain in the wee hours.
