Travel and Terrain Advice

Pay attention to the slab formed by the weak snowfall, which was until this morning at high altitudes. On the south side, it rests on a thawing frozen crust, so if it occurs, it can become an avalanche with a long foot (long downflow distance). Also, since there is a northeastern wind in the sky above, it is also important to consider that snow moves and easily falls on the surface of the solar radiation. You can enjoy comfortable gliding on the shaded surface. Have a safe day

概要

Avalanche

No new avalanches were reported yesterday (13th).

Snowpack

Due to the effects of yesterday's solar radiation, the south wind during the day, and the rise in temperature at low elevations, thin thawing crusts were formed on the slopes closer to the south. The snow on the north side is kept dry.

Weather

The Meteorological Agency forecasts southern winds, daytime, northern winds, cloudy, morning to evening, sunny, and a maximum temperature of 6 degrees (elevation 13 m) for the Joetsu region of Niigata prefecture. At Myoko Kanzan (altitude 350 m), the temperature was 0.2℃ (as of 5:00), and there was snowfall of about 5 cm in the past 12 hours.
