Travel and Terrain Advice

This is a dangerous avalanche condition. It's a day that requires careful rooting and conservative decision-making. If you raise the elevation, please check the condition on the assumption that the combined state of the consolidated snowfall and the old snow surface is not good. We do not recommend the large steep slopes facing the south where the effects of solar radiation are strong. Have a safe day with group management that makes good use of the terrain.

概要

Avalanche

Due to stormy weather yesterday (6th), there are no reports of avalanches occurring in the mountainous area.

Snowpack

The snow of the stormy weather from the afternoon of the 5th rests on the wet rough snow in places with low altitudes and melting frozen crusts formed by the temperature rise and solar radiation up to the previous day. Where the elevation bands are low, their boundary faces do not seem to have a bad join, but the state of the elevation slightly raised is unknown. However, considering the state of the adjacent Hakuba Mountains, it can be considered that there is a high probability that it does not have sufficient bonding strength.

Weather

The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting westerly winds, initially slightly stronger, and foggy, and a maximum temperature of 6°C (elevation 13 m) for the Joetsu region of Niigata prefecture. At Myoko Sasagamine (elevation 1,310m), the temperature is -8℃ (as of 5:00), and it has snowfallen 82 cm in the past 24 hours.
