Travel and Terrain Advice

Note the uncoupled storm slabs on steep slopes at higher elevations. Attention should be paid to provocations from open extreme steep slopes or places where the slope changes sharply. It is forecast to clear up during the day. Be aware of the possibility of wet and snowpoint avalanches on large steep slopes to the south.

概要

Avalanche

Yesterday, there were reports of multiple surface-occurring avalanches size 1 observed due to spontaneous occurrence just below the ridge on the southeast-facing slope from 1600m to around 1750m altitude.

Snowpack

Due to the temperature rise and solar radiation the other day, a crust was formed in all directions on the southern slope and at an altitude of 1500m or less. The snowfall of the other day is 60 cm or more on it, and it is gradually settling. The bonding of the interface with the crust is good, but there is a weakly bonded layer at the top of the snow cover, and naturally occurring surface-occurring avalanches have been observed locally, but they do not propagate significantly. On sunshine slopes of 1400 m or less, crusts were formed on the snowy surface.

Weather

The temperature at AMeDAS Fujiwara as of 4:00 -8.9 degrees Celsius. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency's announcement at 17:00 on the 7th, it is forecast that it will be covered by high pressure, but it will be cloudy from time to time due to the influence of barometric valleys and moist air.
