It is a day when you can enjoy a tour to a deep position where it is usually difficult to approach. Generally, the risk of avalanches is low, but it is necessary to pay attention to slabs that remain locally in extreme terrain shapes and very steep slopes. If you are raising the elevation, please be vigilant of places where hard snow surfaces are exposed and cornice. As you lower the elevation, pay attention to point avalanches of wet snow during the day. Wet snow is heavy, so it's easy to scoop up your feet, even if it's small. If there is a “terrain trap” such as a cliff below the slope, it can be a serious ending. And try not to approach slopes with glide cracks. Have a nice day
Yesterday (9th), snowballs etc. were observed on slopes strongly affected by solar radiation.
The southern side of the forest belt is entering the spring cycle of thaw freezing. Snow is still kept dry on the north side, which is higher than the upper below treeline. The wind is also moderate in Alpine, and there is only a small amount of snow that can already be moved, so only wind slabs that have passed time remain locally.
The Japan Meteorological Agency predicts southern wind, daytime, north wind, sunny, and high temperature of 11 degrees Celsius (elevation 13 m) for the Joetsu region of Niigata prefecture. The temperature is -7℃ (as of 5:00) at Myoko Sasagamine (elevation 1,310m).
