Avalanche
An all-layer avalanche of size 2.5 was observed yesterday (14th) in the below treeline. Point-generated avalanches due to multiple wet snow have also been observed.
Snowpack
Glide avalanche generally occur on slopes with snow wrinkles and glide cracks, but avalanches have occurred yesterday where no such signs have been observed. This is a cold winter this season, and there has been no rainfall so far, and thawing and freezing crusts have not formed within the snow cover, and the characteristics of snowfall phenomena so far have affected it. And this morning's rainfall has further worsened the snowfall condition, so even if the weather recovers, don't let your vigilance down today. Also, since last night, a warm southwest wind has entered, and the temperature is positive until the main ridge line.
Weather
The Japan Meteorological Agency predicts southern wind, later, north wind, sunny, rain until dawn, and a high temperature of 16 degrees Celsius (elevation 418 m) for the northern part of Nagano prefecture. At the foot of Mt. Hakuba (elevation 703m), we are observing rainfall of 4.4℃ (as of 5:00) and 11mm from dawn.
