Yesterday (19th) was a “lesson day” about avalanches. There is instability that is easy to understand even for inexperienced people, and as I wrote in yesterday's avalanche information, it was a day when you could try to cause an avalanche using a small safe terrain. It must have been a good lesson if you feel that “slope is important” for avalanches and “choosing terrain is important” for safety measures. Today is the day when instability varies depending on the location. In some places, it doesn't respond at all, and in some places it's still in a state that can be induced. Pay attention to characteristic terrain where snow cover tends to become unstable (very steep, convex, unsupported terrain, etc.). Also, check if there are any “terrain traps” below the slope. Yesterday, there was also a rescue case where glide cracks, which are one of the traps in the terrain, were swept away by avalanches and fell. The mountains will be crowded, so please manage the group while also being concerned about the actions of other groups. Have a nice day

Yesterday (19th), many avalanches of storm slabs were observed due to spontaneous occurrence of size 1-2 or human-induced storm slabs due to the fact that there were many people entering the mountain.
Yesterday (19th), the combined state of fresh snow and old snow that fell from the 18th to the 19th was poor, and a large number of avalanches were induced. There are also nighttime temperature drops, etc., and this instability is in the direction of resolution, but please pay attention to the following three points. On steep southern slopes, where the influence of solar radiation is strong, even if it is stable in the morning, then the intensity of snow on the surface layer quickly falls. On the northern slope, the combination of fresh and old snow proceeds slowly. Sufficient vigilance is still necessary in places where snow cover tends to become unstable, such as very steep slopes and convex shapes. Finally in the High Alpine, strong northwest winds are blowing, and note the wind slabs that are just forming.
The Japan Meteorological Agency predicts snow or rain until noon, and a high temperature of 7℃ (elevation 418m) for the northern part of Nagano prefecture depending on the north wind, cloudy, sometimes sunny, and in some places. At the foot of Mt. Hakuba (elevation 703m), the temperature is -0.2℃ (as of 5:00).
