Travel and Terrain Advice

At high altitudes, pay attention to wind slabs that remain in extreme terrain. Also, there are a lot of hard slopes exposed, so be wary of slipping. On the other hand, at low altitudes, glide cracks open in various places. In most cases, it is not visible from the top of the slope, so in the case of an invisible slope ahead, please stop once and check the condition beyond it. Also, snow melting is progressing in Tanisuji. Be careful of cracks in the river and the remaining snow blocks at the top of you.

概要

Avalanche

Yesterday (21st), the collapse of size 2 snow blocks and size 1 point-generated wet snow avalanches due to ski cuts have been observed and reported in places with low elevations.

Snowpack

Snow in stormy weather goes in the direction of stabilization, and so far no noticeable vulnerability has been observed. And at high altitudes, wind slabs that have been redistributed and time-lapsed remain locally. On the other hand, in places where elevations are low, it is a cycle of spring thawing and freezing, and if you select the time zone, direction, and elevation, you can glide in rough snow.

Weather

The Japan Meteorological Agency predicts southern wind, daytime, north wind, cloudy, morning to morning, snow or rain, later, sunny, and a high temperature of 7 degrees Celsius (elevation 13 m) for the Joetsu region of Niigata prefecture. At Myoko Sasagamine (elevation 1,310m), the temperature is -4℃ (as of 5:00), and there is no new snowfall in the past 12 hours.
