Travel and Terrain Advice

Watch out for places with open cracks that are susceptible to yesterday's rain, and the possibility of Glide avalanche from extreme steep slopes. It is recommended not to enter the lower part of such places or to the bottom of the river, or to pass quickly. The spring cycle has begun. The risk of avalanches varies drastically from “low” to “high” during the day due to temperature, solar radiation, and rainfall. It is recommended to act before the crust loosens completely due to the effects of solar radiation or the rise in temperature. If there is snowfall at a high altitude due to stormy spring weather, please be careful of surface-generated dry snow avalanches. Today we will finish avalanche information for this area. Thank you to everyone who provided the information.

Snowpack

It rained until at least around 1800m yesterday. At low elevations, nighttime cooling was weak for 3 nights, but it is expected that the middle layer of the snowfall gradually increases in density and strength increases. A large number of clyde cracks have been observed on steep slopes and low elevations to the south.

Weather

The temperature at AMeDAS Fujiwara as of 4:00 is 3.4 degrees Celsius. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency's announcement at 17:00 on the 26th, it will gradually be covered by high pressure, but since barometric valleys are expected to remain in the Kanto-Koshin region, it is forecast to be cloudy and sunny, and rain until dawn in the northern part of Gunma prefecture.
