Travel and Terrain Advice

Think of glide-cracked slopes as extremely unstable at all elevation zones. The weather is in the direction of recovery, but meltwater continues to melt the snow cover within the snow cover, so the risk of all-layer avalanches remains high. Glide cracks are not visible from the top of the slope. Please raise situational awareness of the terrain and climb and slide on a safe line. Have a nice day

概要

Avalanche

There was also stormy weather yesterday (26th), and there are no reports of avalanches occurring in the mountains.

Snowpack

Yesterday (26th), a storm from the south blew, rainfall in the afternoon, and 30 mm of rainfall within last night. Due to this, the snow cover is sufficiently wet. The weather is in the direction of recovery, but positive temperatures continue on the main ridge line throughout the night, so the melting of the snow cover is progressing.

Weather

The Japan Meteorological Agency is predicting northern winds, cloudy weather, sometimes sunny, rain until early morning in some places, and a high temperature of 15℃ (elevation 418m) for the northern part of Nagano prefecture. At the foot of Mt. Hakuba (elevation 703m), the temperature is 7.2 degrees Celsius (as of 5:00). Yesterday (26th), a high temperature of 10.4° C was recorded at 21:00, and temperatures of 5° C or higher continue throughout the night.
