Travel and Terrain Advice

Think of glide-cracked slopes as extremely unstable at all elevation zones. The weather is in the direction of recovery, but meltwater continues to melt the snow cover within the snow cover, so the risk of all-layer avalanches remains high. Glide cracks are not visible from the top of the slope. Please raise situational awareness of the terrain and climb and slide on a safe line. Have a nice day

概要

Avalanche

Yesterday (26th), a collapse of a size 2 snow block was reported at a low elevation. It's an extreme terrain like a cliff.

Snowpack

The rainfall from yesterday (26th) afternoon was 10 mm or less and there was not much as an amount, but the high temperature continues even at night, and snow melting is progressing. Especially on the sea side of the mountain area, the Fern phenomenon occurred due to warm strong southerly winds entering, and the temperature became high. It is necessary to consider that, due to this, rainfall, at least, a large amount of meltwater occurs, and it continues to melt snow within the snow cover.

Weather

The Japan Meteorological Agency predicts westerly winds, initially slightly strong, cloudy, sunny from the evening, and a high temperature of 13 degrees Celsius (elevation 13 m) for the Joetsu region of Niigata prefecture. The temperature is 5℃ (as of 5:00) at Myoko Sasagamine (elevation 1,310m).
