Wet snow is very heavy, so it's easy to scoop up your feet, even if it's small. Check for “terrain traps” such as cliffs and glide cracks below the slope. No the new avalanche were reported yesterday (29th).
Snowpack
At high altitudes, some snowfall until last morning became damp during the day. Where the elevation is lower than the forest limit, it becomes rough snow in the cycle of thawing and freezing. The nighttime coldness is also weak, and the temperature is positive throughout the night even near the main ridge line.
Weather
The Japan Meteorological Agency predicts southern winds, later, north winds, sunny, sometimes cloudy, and a high temperature of 20°C (elevation 418m) for the northern part of Nagano prefecture. At the foot of Mt. Hakuba (elevation 703m), the temperature is -0.8℃ (as of 5:00). Also, yesterday (29th), a high temperature of 11.6 degrees Celsius was recorded at the foot of the mountain at 15:00.
