Travel and Terrain Advice

At lower elevations, be aware of the effects of daytime warming and solar radiation, as well as the onset of rainfall. Near the forest limit, you can enjoy comfortable rough snow gliding during the day when the snow surface loosens. It is a safe avalanche condition, but please continue to take safety actions based on terrain awareness, such as whether there are slopes above and below you with glide cracks, and whether the place to stop is a safe place. Have a nice day

概要

Avalanche

There are no reports of the new avalanche yesterday (2nd).

Snowpack

In the Alpine, snowfall until the morning of the 1st remains, but the snow surface at an altitude lower than the forest limit has become rough snow with repeated thawing and freezing. On the main ridge line, weak southwesterly winds are coming in, and the cold is weak. At low elevations, watch out for glide cracks and falling remaining snow blocks in extreme terrain.

Weather

The Japan Meteorological Agency predicts southern winds, cloudy weather, and occasional rain or snow, and a high temperature of 11℃ (elevation 418m) from the afternoon to the northern part of Nagano prefecture. At the foot of Mt. Hakuba (elevation 703m), the temperature is -2.0℃ (as of 5:00). The Nagano Regional Meteorological Observatory is predicting 25 mm of precipitation and 10 cm of snowfall for the northern part of Nagano prefecture in 24 hours until tomorrow (4th) morning.
