Snowpack
The total snowfall in the Murodo area is about 30-40 cm, with a 2-3 cm crust formed on the surface, on top of which is about 1 cm of last night's snowfall. There are no significant instabilities within the snowpack.
Weather
In Murodo, the temperature was -1.5°C as of 5:00 am, and there was about 1 cm of new snowfall until morning. The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) is forecasting cloudy skies at the foot of the mountain with rain from early afternoon and thunderstorms in the late evening due to the influence of low pressure and moist air.
