信頼度:○ good □ Fair △ Low
Beware of new, newly unstable wind slabs that exist on the steep slopes just below the ridge and branch ridges. There are many exposed "terrain traps" such as rocks and gullies where even small avalanches can cause extensive damage. Be careful of collisions with rocks thinly concealed by the snowfall.
Beware of steep slopes below ridges and branch ridges
Yesterday (26th), there were multiple reports of human-triggered, size 1 slab avalanches on steep, easterly slopes.
Around 2,400 m elevation, about 10 cm of snow had fallen since yesterday. The wind is expected to move the snow and form new wind slabs on the ridge crest and below the branch ridges. Due to the recent rainfall, faceting is progressing inside the old snow at elevations below about 2500m and bonding is deteriorating.
As of 6:00, the temperature in Murodo is -6.4℃, with about 10cm of snow having fallen since last night. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, high pressure is expected to prevail, but cold and moist air is expected to affect the area, so the forecast is cloudy at the foot of the mountain, sunny in the evening, and rainy in some places until morning.
