Strong winds have re-distributed new snowfall across a variety of surfaces. Be particularly careful in areas where there is more new snow than expected and in places where it overlies hard surfaces. Early season hazards are widespread and many are lurking just below the snow surface.

The Dec. 13 rain event consolidated the lower snowpack and created a hard rain crust up to 700m. 30-40cms of new snow has fallen across the region since the rain event and strong West winds have re-distributed the new snow.
Strong West winds and steady snowfall are expected to continue through the today (Thursday) and tomorrow with the heaviest snow expected overnight Thursday night.
