Travel and Terrain Advice

Watch for storm slabs forming on the ridge line, just below the branch ridges, and on open steep slopes with few trees. Expect some solar radiation during the day. If snowballs begin to roll on steep slopes, it is a sign that the snowpack is losing strength. Watch for the possibility of loose snow avalanches from large southerly steep slopes. There are exposed "terrain traps" such as deep gullies, cliffs, rocks, and standing timber that can increase damage even if the size of the avalanche that occurs is small. In the lower elevation zones, bushes are exposed, and difficult to ski.

概要

Avalanche

There is no information because no one entered the mountain yesterday.

Snowpack

The crusts formed on the southerly slopes are expected to be settling with more than 40-60 cm of storm snowfall that was affected by strong northwesterly winds until last night. Attention should be paid to the bonding of boundary surfaces within the snowfall.

Weather

As of 6:00 am, there has been 15 cm of snowfall in the past 24 hours at Amedas Fujiwara and settling is in progress. The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting clear skies due to high pressure.
