Below Treeline Fair Take into account the effects of elevated temperature and solar radiation

Beware of instability that remains in specific terrains. Be especially vigilant in terrains with extreme shapes or where convexities combine with cliffs. Because winds can come around mountain slopes, wind slabs may form on the sides of terrain at lower elevations than usual after a storm. Even if you feel the overall trend is stable, do not forget to observe the slope conditions. Also, a large temperature increase is forecast for today. Slabs on steeper slopes facing south can be prone to induced hardening and deformation due in part to the effects of solar radiation. Please continue with basic group management while using the terrain to your advantage. Have a good day.
Yesterday (January 11), several spontaneous avalanches of size 2-2.5 were observed on the eastern slopes of the alpine, probably during stormy weather. A size 2 avalanche was also observed on the northeast slope below treeline.
The snow from the afternoon of January 9-10 is advancing sintering. Storms have been blowing over the past two days in the alpine and treeline, forming hard wind slabs on the downwind side. There is a lack of information on the crust formed on January 6, deep to the south, which remains a concern.
The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting a southerly wind, daytime, northerly wind, clear skies, and a maximum temperature of 10°C (418 m elevation) for northern Nagano Prefecture. At the foot of Mt. Hakuba (elevation 703m), the temperature is -10.8°C (as of 5 am), with no snowfall in the past 12 hours.
