Travel and Terrain Advice

Those going up in elevation should be wary of wind slabs formed by yesterday's strong northerly winds. Although the amount of snowfall is low, there is local snow accumulation on the leeward side. It is necessary to consider that a locally formed slab with a shape that is difficult to support the snow cover can induce it. Also, don't forget that in forest, there is a hard surface under the thin layer of fresh snow. Skis may get caught unexpectedly and cause a fall. At low elevations, the snow melts and holes are formed in the creek. Don't forget to be careful of "terrain traps" when descending. The weather is improving. Have a good day.
