Watch for bonding storm slabs that have formed on steep slopes due to new snowfall. Snowfall continues. Please act with caution to watch for new snowfall and wind effects. Exposed "terrain traps" such as deep gullies, cliffs, rocks, and standing timber that can increase damage even if the size of the avalanche that occurs is small.

Yesterday, there was a report of a size 2 glide avalanche observed on the southeast slope near 1300m.

Snowpack


New snowfall is expected to be 30-40 cm in many places. Be careful of bonding with old snow.

Weather


As of 4:00, the temperature at AMeDAS Fujiwara is -4.5℃. Snowfall over the past 12 hours has totaled 15 cm, and continues to fall. The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting a winter pressure pattern at first, but as high pressure is expected to gradually build, it will be cloudy and sunny at the foot of the mountains in northern Gunma Prefecture, with snow in the early morning.
