There has been much snow and wind in the region recently. This has made for great skiing through the region, however all the new snow remains on the temperature crust. The temperature crust is becoming weak and is buried up to 100cm down in the snowpack in some zones. The temperature crust will need to be continually observed for any weak layers that may develop around the crust.
The recent gale force winds and heavy snowfall have given way to calmer winds and steady light snow that should continue through the weekend with short moments of sun possible.
