Travel and Terrain Advice

Dangerous avalanche conditions. Be on the lookout for storm slabs formed by yesterday evening's snowfall. Avoid very steep slopes, areas where the terrain is shaped to not support the snowpack, and areas where there are "terrain traps" below the slope. Snow from previous stormy days has settled well, so conditions are good for powder runs with good underlying support, even if the slope is a low angle. The choice of terrain is paramount to safety. Due to the effects of solar radiation and rising temperatures, slabs that were slow to respond in the morning may become more responsive in the afternoon. Pay close attention to snow changes during the day.
