Alpine Good Continued snowfall throughout the week may have created at slab higher elevations.
Treeline Good Higher than expected new snow totals require testing of the new and old snow surface interface.

Glide cracks continue to be a concern and are numerous at lower elevations.
New snow accumulation has been higher than expected over the last few days. Testing of the new/old snow interface is required especially on southern aspects as this latest new snow will have fallen on a crust created during sunny periods.
Loose dry avalanches will likely occur by human trigger in steep above terrain. Be mindful of terrain traps below you.
A human-triggered size 2 (enough to bury a person) was recorded through gate 5 at Niseko Untied on the the 21st of February. The rider was was not caught and traversed out of the slide path.
Periods of broken sunshine over the previous few days has created a sun crust on the southerly slopes. We have received up to 50cm in the early part of the week with higher total in the North of the range. The mid to lower snowpack appears to be well bonded with any concerns within the latest new snow.
Calm condtions will round out the week with light to moderate west to north west winds, snowfall will continue in the coming days.
