Travel and Terrain Advice
Beware of triggering storm slabs where there are sudden changes in slope, on ridgelines, just below branch ridges, and on steep slopes with few trees. Beware of "terrain traps" such as gullys and cliffs, where even small avalanches that occur can cause significant damage. Also, remember that a good slope to ski is the "avalanche terrain" itself. Remember the basics: one person at a time, moving from safe zone to safe zone, and those in the safe zone monitoring the skiers. Snowfall is forecast to continue. Please be aware of the changes that may occur due to increased snowfall and wind effects.

Snowpack
Due to the stormy weather since yesterday, 30-50 cm of snowfall influenced by northwest winds is expected to be on crusts on the southerly slopes and on well-settled old snow on the northerly slopes. No significant vulnerabilities have been reported within yesterday's snowfall, but caution should be exercised in bonding within the new snowfall.
Weather
As of 4:00 a.m., 16 cm of snow had fallen over the past 24 hours at AMeDAS Fujiwara, and wind-driven snow continues to fall in the surrounding areas. The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting cloudy skies and snow until dawn in northern Gunma Prefecture due to the continuing winter pressure pattern and the influence of cold air.
