Travel and Terrain Advice
Be alert for terrain formed by wind slabs. Avoid slopes where the terrain is convex or isolated features that are unlikely to support snowpack combined with "terrain traps" below it. High temperatures are forecast during the day, so be aware of changes in the snowpack on steep southern slopes. Stormy snow is in the direction of stabilization, so if you choose simple terrain, you can enjoy a safe and comfortable day of skiing. Please continue to follow the principle behavior of stopping at safe spots, skiing one at a time, and so on, until the descent to the town. Remember that at lower elevations, hard previous debris can be hidden under fresh snow. Have a good day.

概要
Avalanche
Yesterday (February 26), several size 1 slab avalanches caused by ski cuts were reported on the east to southeast slopes of the below treeline. The bed surfaces are all Melt-Freeze crusts that were buried on February 24.
Snowpack
Snowfall through yesterday, mainly in the northern part of the Hakuba Valley, was about 30 cm Below Treeline. Yesterday, on the downwind eastern slopes, where the snowpack tends to be unstable, such as in convex terrain, a size 1 slab avalanche was triggered by skicut. Very strong winds have been blowing since yesterday at higher elevations, and wind slab formation will require caution today.
Weather
The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting northerly winds, cloudy, sunny before noon, and a high of 8°C (418 m elevation) for northern Nagano Prefecture. At AMeDAS Hakuba (elevation 703 m), the temperature is -6.1°C (as of 5:00 am), with no new snowfall in the past 12 hours.
