Travel and Terrain Advice

Rain is falling at lower elevations. When snowballs begin to roll on steep slopes, it is a sign that the snowpack is losing strength. Watch for the possibility of a loose snow avalanche. Be aware of large steep slopes where the size of the generated avalanche increases. Also watch for block avalanches from cliff-like areas and glide avalanches from open glide cracks. Avoid under such areas. Or move quickly.
