At higher elevations, be on the lookout for wind slabs formed by yesterday's snowfall. Since very strong winds were blowing, hard, frozen snow surfaces are exposed on the ridge tops, so be careful of slips and falls. On the steep south-facing slopes, please consider the effects of high daytime temperatures and solar radiation. In the morning, new snow may be bonding with old snow, but by midday its strength will diminish. Near the base of the mountain, snow is melting rapidly. Watch for snow blocks and glide avalanches on steep slopes on both sides of gully terrain. It is important to act with caution above yourself. Have a good day.
Very strong winds were blowing yesterday in Alpine. Yesterday's snow moved to the leeward side and formed wind slabs.
Note the effects of rising temperatures and solar radiation during the day.
Watch for glide avalanches in all aspects and at lower elevations. Stay away from slopes with glide cracks.

Rainfall from early yesterday morning turned to snow at higher elevations. The freezing level was observed to be generally at 1,500 m.
