Travel and Terrain Advice

Timing will play an important role in the coming days as solar input will be needed to soften the surface of the snowpack. Icy conditions are expected as the freezing level lowers and may lead to a high risk of long slides in steep terrain if you take a fall. Glide avalanches are hard to predict so avoidance is recomended. Do not group up under glide cracks especially if we receive any further rain on snow.

概要

Avalanche

No new activity has been reported recently.

Snowpack

Rain from earlier in the week has locked up the upper snowpack. At best 5cm of new snow was recorded with isolated pockets of deeper snow in protected areas. Heating of the upper snowpack from the sun or temperature will result in softening with the snowpack becoming wet.

Weather

Light to moderate south to west winds in the coming days will bring with it light snowfall on Thursday with broken sunshine later in the week. The freezing level will lower in the coming days.
